Holy Days of Obligation


Holy Days of Obligation are the days on which the faithful are obliged to participate in the Mass, in addition to Sundays. Whenever January 1st, August 15th , or November 1st fall on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.

The Solemnity of the Ascension of The Lord, Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter

The Solemnity of the Assumption of  The Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15

The Solemnity of All Saints, November 1

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, December 8

The Solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, December 25

In addition, all Sundays are to be observed as Holy Days of Obligation
